Is there an age limit to having your face painted?
I have no minimum age for my facepainting. It is purely up to the child if they want to have their face painted. Obviously the ability to sit still is the hardest thing with under 3 year olds, although if they are squirmers I can paint something quickly on their hand or cheek as an alternative. Facepainting can often be popular amongst adults at parties too and I will do this happily if requested.
What designs are available?
Children can choose their favourite design from a selection of photos in an album I provide at the party. There is a good mix of both girl and boy faces. If you have a particular theme in mind or like a certain design that I have featured in my gallery then please let me know and I will ensure that it is included in my album. I find that passing around the album and flicking through it helps to keep the children occupied whilst waiting in line for their turn.
What sort of paints do you use?
All of my paints are TAG brand, a professional waterbased makeup which provides excellent coverage and vivid colours. The glitter I use is cosmetic grade and is safe to use around the eyes, nose and mouth. My brushes and sponges are of the highest quality and I only use one sponge per child. I am conscientious about rinsing out my brushes thoroughly in between colors and customers, and changing paint water often.
What is the best way to remove facepaint?
Most of the colours that I use should be easily removed with just a baby wipe or wet dark coloured washcloth. However I do find some colours such as green or red can leave a slight stain on the skin. In these instances I suggest removing with a touch of oil, either olive oil or baby oil would both work well.
What do we need to provide?
I bring along my own professional directors makeup chair for clients to sit in, along with a stool to help younger children climb up onto it. I will need you to provide a small table either inside or outside in a well shaded and sheltered area. A corner of a counter or breakfast bar will work well also. I will need access to water and good light. I generally arrive 10 mins prior to the start of your party to enable enough time to setup so that I am able to paint for the full amount of time you have hired me for. I normally paint the birthday child’s face first so that he/she is ready to greet their guests as they arrive.
How can I pay you?
I take cash payment on the day of the event, there is no deposit required. I suggest booking 2 -3 weeks in advance to ensure I am available. At this stage I have no cancellation policy in place, however please let me know as soon as possible if your event is not to go ahead for whatever reason.
